June 8, 1998 Dear WEPP User: A new WEPP model executable is now available which fixes several bugs that were identified in WEPP model version 97.3. The new WEPP model executable is version 98.4, and contains corrections to silage harvest management and multiple OFE hydrology and erosion computations. There is also a new management option for residue additions, though we currently have no interface to allow one to access this function. To install the complete version 98.4 installation program, download the following files to your PC, then run the program INSTALL.EXE. INSTALL.CFG INSTALL.EXE IVINST.EXE NEWINFO.TXT README.1ST README.TXT WEPP98A.EXE WEPP98B.EXE If you wish to download any additional climate files, those are contained within the archive files having names starting with ZZ97. For example, the file ZZ97SE.EXE would need to be downloaded if you wanted to install climate files for the southeast states. Version 98.4 should work with any existing WEPP model simulation runs which you have already defined. We are also developing a Windows interface to replace the current DOS one. We hope to have a functional and tested WEPP Windows interface for hillslope simulations by late 1998. Check our Web site for more information on the Windows interface development.
