Field Experiments

The Agricultural Research Service, along with several cooperating agencies, conducted both laboratory research and field experiments on many cropland, rangeland, and forestland soils across the U.S. This research helped provide a basic understanding of how natural and environmentally modified soil properties affect infiltration and erodibility.

"These studies 'produced' the parameter values needed to ensure that the WEPP erosion prediction technology would apply across a broad range of climate, soils, topographies, and land uses" (WEPP - User Requirements : Draft 6.3).
